Defensive Driving

Merkley’s Driving School offers a state certified Defensive Driving Course/Accident Prevention Program, which consists of 6 hours of classroom instruction. We have a class that starts about every other week.  Classes during the week are on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm both nights.  We also have classes on Saturdays from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. We only give the Defensive Driving class at our Edmond location. Why Someone Would Need A Defensive Driving Program:

• If a ticket was received and points were added to your driving record, this course will reduce your record by 2 (two) points.
• If court ordered, the course will prevent points from going on your driving record.
• If voluntary, the course is usually taken to receive discounts on insurance or increase one’s knowledge and skill in driving.
• The class for point reduction can be taken once every 2 years.

Difference Between Online Courses and Merkley's Defensive Driving Course:

• Online courses are not state certified.
• Online courses do not take points off of driving record.
